Duke Moscrip & the U-37 crew
We were honored to have Duke Moscrip on our boat at the Torchlight Parade Saturday night. Duke is the man that saved Seafair this year with a very generous donation that insured the races would take place.
Make sure to stop into any one of the Duke’s Chowder House locations and say “Thanks, Duke!”

Torchlight parade route
The U-37 Miss Peters & May will be one of several Unlimited and Unlimited Lights hydroplanes in the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade on July 31 in Seattle.
The Torchlight parade is an annual fixture of the Seafair celebration, and includes hundreds of entrants, from the Seattle Police Dept. motorcycle drill team to the Seafair Pirates. This year is special, since most local hydroplane teams will be able to attend due to the free weekend between the Tri-Cities and Seattle races.
The parade begins at 7:30 pm and will go from the Seattle Center through downtown and end at the King Street Station (see map at left). It will also be broadcast on KIRO-TV beginning at 7:30 pm.

MADISON, Ind. (June 28, 2010)—Several unlimited hydroplane drivers have agreed to trade in their driver’s suits and race helmets for a BoneYard Grill waiter’s uniform and service tray Thursday, July 1 to help raise money for the Lide White Memorial Boys & Girls Club in Madison, Ind.
The event schedule to begin at 6:00 pm at the BoneYard Grill, 513 Clifty Drive in Madison, Ind. will pit eight unlimited hydroplane drivers against each other to see who can raise the most tips throughout the evening. The driver with the largest tip total will receive a trophy for the inaugural event the following night at Madison’s only sports themed restaurant.
Driver’s scheduled to appear include: U-3 Go3 Racing’s Jimmy King, U-5 Formulaboats.com’s Jeff Bernard, U-7 Graham Trucking’s J. Crew Chief Scott Raney has the U-37 set up for display at the 2010 Miami Boat Show for the week of Feb. 11-15th, and will retrieve it for the long haul back to the Northwest when the show is over, completing a complete circumnavigation of the globe that started over 5 months ago. As evidenced by these shots from the show, the U-37 Peters & May is looking pretty good:

David Holley, Managing Director of Peters & May USA has announced that Billy & Jane Schumacher’s U-37 will be featured in the Peters & May display area at the Miami Boat Show, February 11th -15th, giving show visitors a chance to get up close and personal with one of the World’s fastest race boats.
Peters & May sponsored the U-37 at the recent Oryx Cup UIM World Championsip in Doha, Qatar where Jean Theoret drove the boat to a strong fourth place finish. Holley explained, “The U-37 Miss Peters & May will be displayed at stand 3371 in the external display area outside the Miami Convention Center, and we will be proud to feature that boat that represented us so well in Qatar.”
Peters & May is also the marine logistics company that is bringing the unlimited fleet home from the middle East, and Holley added, “The display at the Miami Boat Show is dependent on us getting the boats back to the US in time. They are currently scheduled to arrive back in Jacksonville about the 29th of January, which is later than anticipated due to poor weather en route through the far East.”
